Noah’s Challenge was established in 2011 as the annual significant fundraising event for Noah’s Inclusion Services to help raise vital funds to support their programs and services. The challenge began as an Adventure Race which consisted of a bike, run and canoe over various distances.
Noah’s Challenge is back bigger and better in 2017 with a new and exciting Amazing Race style event for all ages. The Amazing Race will be held on Saturday 28th October and will be part of the biggest annual community event in the Shoalhaven, the River Festival.
The event is a fun team race, where participants will visit various checkpoints along a 4KM course and complete physical, mental and creative activities.
Where will my funds go?
Recent changes to funding mean an uncertain future for some of Noah’s programs and services. The funds raised from Noahs Challenge in 2017 will go towards two important programs helping hundreds of children and their families in the local community – Start Up and Family Disability Support.
- START UP: Start Up is a thorough and innovative assessment program run by experienced and professional staff. It is a multidisciplinary team consisting of a Teacher, Psychologist, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and Early Childhood Educator. The team provides information, practical ideas, developmental assessment and diagnosis. For any families with concerns about their child’s development, this program offers a comprehensive assessment to their child’s needs and support.
- FAMILY DISABILITY SUPPORT: This program allows families who have a school aged child with a disability the opportunity to connect with other families in a similar situation, and to experience activities which are more difficult for families living with a disability. The program provides information, support and connection for families when they really need it. Events such as a family camp, outings and information sessions are all run through the Family Disability Support program.
